Legal Claims for Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) breast implants.

Following the recent media coverage regarding Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) breast implants, we at Rundlewalker are investigating the possibility of pursuing legal claims for compensation for women who have had these implants, whether or not you have yet suffered any problems.

In March 2010 the UK Medicine and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) released a Medical Device Alert in relation to the implants and recalled all devices.

It is alleged that the implants contain non medical grade silicone and that they have a higher risk of rupture.

Under the Supply of Goods and Services Act, the goods supplied (i.e. the implants) are required to be of “satisfactory quality” and clearly this is not the case. In breach of contract therefore, the private clinic should rectify this by providing replacement surgery or pay compensation.

It may also be possible to claim for any pain and suffering that you have suffered as a result of faulty implants or the anxiety from not knowing whether your implants are defective.

If you have had PIP implants and want to consider your legal options please contact us in confidence on 0800 015 2568.
