City firm praised by Law Society

Exeter law firm Rundlewalker has successfully retained its Law Society’s quality mark, Lexcel, a much sought after accreditation it has now held for the past five years.

The firm was particularly praised for its apprenticeship scheme and commitment to trainee opportunities. Over the past three years, Rundlewalker has taken on three apprentices in its conveyancing, personal injury and civil litigation departments with a new trainee paralegal vacancy just announced.

Rundlewalker CEO Nick Dudman said he was extremely proud of his team’s achievement.

‘It’s a reassurance to our clients that they are getting the very best professional advice, he said. ‘And it’s also an important indicator to our staff that they are working to the highest standards.

‘Rundlewalker is one of the smallest practices in Exeter and that’s quite deliberate. We pride ourselves on being approachable and transparent, giving our clients clarity and peace of mind as well as delivering high quality work.’ See our video.

Lexcel involves a rigorous application and assessment process scrutinising not just a legal practice’s professional expertise but also the quality of its systems, file management, client care and treatment of staff. It includes indepth background checks and an onsite visit from an independent Lexcel assessor.

Only around 15% of all legal practices have a Lexcel accreditation. Retaining this award, Rundlewalker, based on Exeter Quay, is one of just 1700 legal practices in England and Wales who can boast this accreditation.

Director and Practice Manager Neil Starr said anyone wondering how to choose a solicitor, should always look for this quality mark.

‘Clients have to contend with a lot of choice in the legal services marketplace, so this award helps us to stand out in our commitment to client care and best practice,’ he said.

Congratulating Rundlewalker on their award, the Law Society’s President Joe Egan, said gaining and maintaining Lexcel is a huge achievement.

‘Delivering good client care and maintaining a strong client relationship are essential for solicitors and those gaining and maintaining Lexcel show their dedication to go above and beyond. Committing to high standards in customer service and practice management is fundamentally important in today’s ever more competitive legal services market.

‘By undergoing an independently assessed Lexcel accreditation, firms can demonstrate their commitment and consistent determination to exceed client expectations, improve overall satisfaction and assist regulatory compliance.

The quality mark is an objective and external assurance for clients and potential clients alike.’
