Nick Dudman - Director

Nick is one of the three Directors of the firm and qualified as a solicitor in 1985. A graduate of the University of Exeter he returned to Exeter in 1988 following three years working in his native Bristol. Since 1988 Nick has practiced exclusively in the field of Family Law with particular expertise in Divorce and Matrimonial Finance. Nick was a partner in a large respected Exeter firm before setting up his own firm in 1996, which he then subsequently merged with Rundlewalker. Since 1998 Nick has been a member of the Law Society’s Family Law Panel, which recognizes his expertise in his chosen field.
Nick is married with three young children and lists amongst his many interests boating, shooting, collecting antique toys and following his son’s tennis career, as well as spending what little time remains with his family when not doing any of the above.
Lisa McArthur - Director & Solicitor, Head of Criminal Defence

Lisa was brought up in Northern Ireland and has worked in the legal profession since leaving school. Since qualifying as a Solicitor in 2000, she has specialised in personal injury law and civil litigation as well as the criminal law.
She has considerable experience of varied and high value claims, including road traffic accidents, accidents at work and public liability cases as well as industrial disease claims.
Lisa also advises clients regularly in the police station and attends the Magistrates Court to represent clients in a range of hearings from plea and sentence to application hearings.
In her spare time, Lisa cycles, plays netball and is a keen runner. She is married with two daughters and enjoys spending time with her family, which usually involves shopping!
Susan Jury - Solicitor

Sue joined Rundlewalker as an associate solicitor in October 2002, having for the previous 15 years worked in a large firm in Plymouth. Sue qualified as a solicitor in 1990 and has since specialised in family law, covering the whole spectrum of family work ranging from high level finance cases, domestic violence to international child abduction cases.
Sue very much enjoys working in the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of Rundlewalker and to being nearer to her home and children’s school. In more recent years Sue has specialised largely in all areas involving children, mostly representing parents and grandparents in care cases and in difficult contact and residence cases.
She is an accredited member of the SRA Children Law Scheme and a Resolution Accredited Specialist in private law children matters and advocacy. When not running around after her 3 young children she enjoys running, walking and yoga.
Sam Reid - Solicitor, Head of Property

Sam graduated from the University of Exeter in 2003 and qualified as a solicitor in a regional Exeter-Based firm where he specialised in conveyancing before joining Rundlewalker as Head of Residential Property in 2014.
Sam is well known for his approachability, professionalism and efficiency. He has years of experience in residential and agricultural conveyancing in Devon and particularly enjoys dealing with complex and high value transactions, mainly for private individuals but also for companies and trusts.
Sam also has experience of dealing with options and overage agreements; lease preparation and extensions; complex first registrations; claims for adverse possession and boundary determination; preparation of auction packs and all forms of general land and property law. He is also available to prepare declarations of trust, wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs).
Galina Labworth - Solicitor

Galina has specialised in criminal law since she qualified as a Solicitor in 1997. She worked in a busy East London practice, where she supervised a team of solicitors, until moving to Devon in 2006. Prior to qualification, she worked at the Court of Appeal, Criminal Division. She has considerable experience of varied and high-level cases. She has dealt with very serious matters including Murder, Rape and large Drug Conspiracies, together with other more general criminal cases.
She has been advising clients in the police station for over 20 years and attends the Magistrates Court on a regular basis to represent clients in a range of hearings from plea and sentence to conducting trials. She is a Duty Solicitor on both the Court and Police Station schemes. She has particular expertise in working with vulnerable people and has a reputation for going the extra mile for her clients and has consistently been rated in the top three "Best Criminal Defence Solicitors" in Exeter, see the full story here.
In her spare time, Galina has an interest in amateur dramatics, making mosaics and most of all, enjoying family time with her three children - which ideally involves a stroll on the Moors ending with a large glass of wine by the fire in a local pub.
Rachel Smith - Solicitor Advocate

Having graduated from Plymouth University in 2009, Rachel has specialised in Criminal Defence work throughout her career, having spent 7 years at a busy North London firm where she completed all aspects of her training, before relocating back to Devon.
She has been representing clients at the police station for a number of years, with cases ranging from murder to shoplifting and everything in between. She was admitted as a Solicitor in 2015 and quickly went on to obtain her Duty Solicitor status.
Rachel regularly appears at the Magistrates and Youth Courts for all types of hearings and has also obtained her Higher Rights of Audience, which means she is able to represent her clients in the Crown Court. She prides herself on fighting tirelessly for every client to ensure the best possible outcome can be achieved.
Away from the office, Rachel can normally be found travelling the country watching Chelsea play football, or enjoying a glass of wine.
Kathy Hayes - Accounts Manager

Before setting up her own business Kathy spent 28 years in the Banking Sector. During this time she undertook all aspects of banking and she later headed up a team dealing with Resource Management.
She qualified as an Accounting Technician in 2000 and set up her own accounting and payroll service. Since that time she has built up a varied client base assisting many local businesses.
She was approached by Rundlewalker in 2001 to join their offices on a self-employed basis to manage their finance department.
Kathy is married with a daughter who has recently graduated from Coventry University. Kathy enjoys house renovation, interior design and spending time with her family.
Hannah Somers - Practice Manager

Hannah is the firm’s Practice Manager and has responsibility for the management of people be they clients, staff and suppliers – as well as office facilities and equipment. This includes managing our team of legal assistants and providing support and administrative services across the firm. It is also Hannah’s responsibility to ensure that the firm maintains its Lexcel Accreditation.
In addition to her role of Practice Manager, Hannah also supports Susan Jury in the Family Department covering a whole spectrum of Family Law work ranging from domestic violence and care proceedings, and assists with difficult contact and residence cases.
In her spare time Hannah enjoys spending time with her young daughter and is a keen runner. Hannah is a qualified Run Leader at her local running club in Exeter and takes part in various running events and races.
Lindsay Fowler - Legal Secretary

Lindsay is an experienced Legal Secretary who supports the Fee Earners in both the Personal Injury and Litigation Teams. And, after many years at Rundlewalker assisting in various departments, Lindsay has now found a keen interest in working with the Criminal Team where she is now a full-time administrator.
She previously worked for a large firm of Solicitors and has experience of many types of law including Probate, Wills and Trust administration.
In her spare time, Lindsay enjoys horse riding and spending time outdoors. As of October 2018, Lindsay is on Maternity Leave.
Gemma Lawson - Paralegal

Gemma is a Paralegal in our Conveyancing Department running her own case load.
Gemma initially started her career as a Legal Secretary and has over a decade of legal experience. She obtained her formal qualifications through distance learning at the University of the West of England as is well known as an efficient and highly capable conveyancer.
Gemma lives locally with her husband and in her spare time enjoys spending quality time with family and friends as well as long walks with her young Border Collie.
Louise Webber - Paralegal

Louise is a Paralegal in our Conveyancing Department running her own case load. Louise has been working in residential property for 17 years and gained her Paralegal Qualification through the Institute of Legal Executives and is set to continue her studies through the Council of Licensed Conveyancers. Licensed Conveyancers are qualified, professional property lawyers who specialise in the legal aspects surrounding buying and selling property in England and Wales.
Louise has worked on a variety of conveyancing transactions over the years and prides herself on being approachable and reassuring when guiding clients through what is sometimes thought of as an extremely stressful time in buying or selling property.
In her spare time Louise likes to spend time outdoors with her husband and two young children.
Joe Clark-Farley - Paralegal

Joe is a paralegal specialising in conveyancing. He joined the firm in 2014 and hopes to one day qualify as a Chartered Legal Executive, which has always been his ambition.
Joe is known for his friendly approach and his dedication to help transactions progress through to completion as efficiently as possible. He deals with all aspects of freehold and leasehold residential sales and purchases, re-mortgages and transfers of equity. He also assists in preparing declarations of trust and statutory declarations and procuring bespoke legal indemnity policies where required.
Joe frequently receives outstanding reviews for the level of service he provides to clients.
Georgina Case - Trainee

Georgina attended South Dartmoor Academy, achieving A-levels in Sociology, Psychology and Maths. She decided University wasn’t the ideal route to take to start her career in Law so decided to take the professional scheme at Rundlewalker.
Georgina provides support to the Conveyancing Department and her duties include drafting contracts and transfers, conducting Stamp Duty returns, issuing registrations and searches as well as general work around the office. Georgina can be contacted for updates on matters and to take messages for the department. She has also been working in the Criminal department to assist when needed and has attended Court on many occasions.
Katie Jeffery - Trainee

Katie joined Rundlewalker in 2017 as an apprentice. She is currently undertaking the Level 2 Diploma in Legal Administration. Katie covers the reception, alongside this she supports Susan Marsh in the Personal Injury and Civil Litigation Department. Katie hopes to progress onto the Paralegal Apprenticeship.
In her free time Katie enjoys dancing, which she has been doing since the age of three. Katie also enjoys spending time with her friends and family and taking her dog on long walks.
Luke Unsworth - Trainee Solicitor

Luke graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Leeds before converting to Law with the Manchester College of Law.
Following his studies, Luke spent 5 years predominantly working in criminal and motoring law, the last 4 years of which were with a large nationwide law firm. He has also spent a number of years representing clients in interviews under caution with the police and local authorities.
Luke joined Rundlewalker in June 2018 as a Trainee Solicitor and he will undertake seats in the Civil Litigation, Family, Conveyancing and Criminal departments.
In his free time, Luke enjoys watching and playing sport as well as socialising with his friends and family.
Ellis Simpson-Lark - Conveyancing Assistant

Ellis joined the team in 2018 after achieving a Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning (Primary Education). Ellis also attended Teign Academy where she completed A-levels in Psychology, Geography and Sport. However, Ellis decided her real ambition was to start a career within Law. On completion of Ellis’ Foundation Degree, she decided to begin her journey within Law by getting onto a professional scheme at Rundlewalker where she hopes her career will continue to develop further.
Ellis provides support to the Conveyancing Department, alongside administration duties where she assists with conducting Stamp Duty returns, contracts, transfers, issuing registrations and searches. Ellis can be contacted regarding messages and updates on matters within the team.
Denise Allen - Administration

Denise has worked at Rundlewalker for 12 years and provides valuable administration support and clerical cover. Previously Denise was an auxiliary nurse and mental health practitioner. In her spare time she enjoys swimming, reading and dining out and spending quality time with her family.
